The talk
Every room is now asking the same question. If a machine can do my work, who am I?
I answer it from inside a small, early version of that world. I run Gray Group International, a portfolio of more than sixty companies, with AI agents as the execution layer. A studio of 26 AI-agent-native apps ships while I give talks. A runtime called Elysium and a daemon named Meera make decisions about agent work while I sleep. I have already watched the doing move off my desk. This talk is about what stayed.
The core claim: when machines can do the doing, purpose moves from what you produce to who you are becoming and who you are doing it for.
The talk walks four shifts. From doing to being.. identity and defining success. From executing to choosing.. clarity and focus. From small to big.. dreaming big. From transaction to connection.. human connection. It lands on the motto that runs underneath everything I make. Build well. Love well. Leave the world better. Each line is a purpose no machine can hold for you.
I do not forecast AGI timelines and I do not rank models. I am an operator, not a researcher. This is not a doom talk, not a hype talk, and not a job-security seminar. It is a talk about purpose.
